Product Styles

There are many styles to choose from when manufacturing cusomt metal products. Below are explanations of our most popular types. If you need further explanation or want to discuss your project, please do not hesitate to call. We are here to help.

Soft Enamel/Die Struck

This style is very similar to cloisonné in that strips of metal separate blocks of color; however enamel is used instead of resin. The blocks of color rest below the metal strip surface, which creates a three dimensional look. Part or all of the surface can be covered with color. The metal will not tarnish. The surface of the piece can be finished with an extremely hard, protective epoxy. Prices include up to 6 colors (white and black are considered colors). Additional colors as low as 6/piece.

Cloisonné (a.k.a. epola)

This is our most popular and cost effective product. Strips of metal separate blocks of brilliant colored resin. The blocks of color sit at the same level as the metal, which leaves the piece with an extremely smooth surface. It is fired and highly polished. This process can reveal excellent detail. Prices include up to 6 colors (white and black are considered colors). Additional colors as low as 6/piece.

Metal

This style can be created as antiqued (a prestigious appearance) or polished. It is an excellent style for awards and recognition programs. It can also be created with "pools" of color, like soft enamel. Prices include up to 6 colors (white and black are considered colors). Additional colors as low as 6/piece.

Photo Etch

Rather than being stamped, each design is chemically etched into the base metal, then color-filled by hand and baked at 1,200-1,400 degrees before being polished. In the final step, a thin coat of clear epoxy is applied to the surface to protect the enamel and to provide a rich, finished look. Photo etch allows for great detail. Prices include 6 colors (white and black are considered colors). Additional colors as low as 6/piece.

Laser Screen

This style is produced by applying each color to the metal base using a "silk screen" process. A very thin epoxy coat protects the color material from scratching. Prices include 4 colors (white and black are considered colors). Additional colors as low as 6/piece.

4-Color Printed

This process allows for bleeds and blends of colors. This style is perfect for complex art and photo reproduction. An unlimited amount of colors can be used. It is cost effective for a lower quality, higher count product.
